Capture Real Estate Leads Earlier With Zopim

March 29, 2012

Lead Capture Time Is ImportantToday’s real estate consumer is expecting a response to inquiries within one hour. Many say 15-20 minutes and faster is even better. It is clear to every real estate expert that time is of the essence.

What would a system be worth that would allow you to respond to internet leads in less than an hour? What would it be worth to respond in less than 15 minutes? What would it be worth to respond before there was ever an inquiry?

Did you notice the little yellow bubble icon down in the corner that asks if you have questions? That is a WordPress widget called Zopim. It allows you to interact with your potential clients as soon as they hit the website.

What is really useful is that Zopim will tell you exactly what page of your website they are on, where they came from, what search term they used to get there, how long they have been on your site, and how many times they have visited the website. If you or your team has ever interacted with them on the chat, it will bring up an archive of those past conversations.

Just like any tool, you will have to play with it to see where it might fit into your marketing plan and how it is best used. Do you want to automatically send them a message as soon as they hit the site? Or do you want to wait until they hit the 5 minute mark before jumping in. Perhaps you only want to interact with them once they hit your home search page. The possibilities are endless and the choice is yours. Play with it to see what works best for your future clients. If you are offline at the time, Zopim will send you an email with the user’s question and contact information.

Zopim Pricing ranges from free to $100 per month, depending on what your needs are. As an individual agent, the free option fits me just fine. If you are a larger team, you may need a paid plan.

Have you used a similar chat program in the past? How did it work for you? Please share your thoughts in the comments below.

Just installed it, looks pretty nice. I had used Woopra in the past to add an online chat feature to one of my previous sites, but Zopim seems pretty streamlined and simple to use! Thanks!

I’ve used Zopim in the past, but I felt it wasn’t good enough. I’ve switched to ClickDesk since and I’ve found them very reliable. They offer pro active chats and also VoIP support, which was the clincher for me, and in comparison to Zopim they are extremely less expensive in terms of pricing. Do check them out at

Hey Robert, thanks for the comment.

Just looked at ClickDesk and here are the issues I see:
      1) Chat limit of 50 chats per month for the free version. Zopim is unlimited and I certainly use more than 50 per month.

      2) Number of domains you can use the code on: only 1 for the free version. I run the Zopim code on 10+ sites for free.

      3) Concurrent Chats – 1 on the free version. Zopim allows 2, and I on occasion have 5 or more on my various sites at a time.

      4) Zopim gives me chat transcripts by email. ClickDesk won’t for the free version.

      5) If you are looking at the paid version, Zopim will give you 5 agents for $39 a month. ClickDesk charges either $10 or $15 PER AGENT if paid annually. If paid monthly, that would be $13 or $20 depending on which version you selected. If you have 5 agents and selected the $10 per month annual plan, you would be paying $50 per month. At $13, you would be paying $65 per month.

VOIP availability is a nice feature, I agree. But with Google Voice and Skype being available, I just don’t know how useful it would be. For my site, if they want to contact me by phone, my phone number is at the top of every page.
